Courtney Love, that well known mental titan recently joined a long list of Celebrity bigots, when she was quoted as saying:   "Every time you buy a Nirvana record, part of that money is not going to Kurt's child, or to me, it's going to a handful of Jew loan officers, Jew private banks, it's going to lawyers who are also bankers, it's going to sixty Pas."

Does Mel Gibson's apology make the following comment any less offensive?  "Fucking Jews ... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world!"   It seems he's been forgiven.  Not by me.

At least Michael Richard's career has gone nowhere after ranting in a concert: "Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a fucking fork up your ass!" he screamed. "You can talk, you can talk; you're brave now, motherfucker! Throw his ass out!"

"I was going to have a few comments about John Edwards, but you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,'"   I guess that we should expect this from Ann Coulter.

Jerry Lewis finds himself in hot water yet again after he used another anti-gay slur on television. The comedian dropped the f-bomb while describing the game of cricket in Australia.

Then of course, there's Steve Carlton, one of the greatest pitchers in Baseball history: , Carlton  said that the world is ruled or controlled by the Russian and United States Governments, which "fill the air with low-frequency sound waves," the Elders of Zion, British intelligence agencies, "12 Jewish bankers meeting in Switzerland" and "a committee of 300 which meets at a roundtable in Rome."

Not only that, but Carlton also charges, that President Clinton has "a black son" he won't acknowledge and that the AIDS virus was created at a secret Maryland biological warfare laboratory "to get rid of gays and blacks."  His brain clearly didn't reach the ninth inning.

Don Imus, George Allen,  Isaiah Washington have all made bigoted comments.   Some have survived some haven't.  Why has Imus been forgiven and Michael Richards not?   These comments just don't slip out.  It's something they felt inside all along.

I don't support these people anyway so there is nothing for me to boycott.

There is ignorance and prejudice in the world. That is a given. Most celebrities are not there because of some ability to reason well or be kind or compassionate. Many crawled their way to the top and they will fall when the next one crawls up and overtakes them.

Why give them any credence by taking offense? Ignorance exists. Prejudice exists. People like to project their "stuff" onto others. What needs to change is some deep psychological work. That will take time, but freedom of speech allows ignoramuses to speak. It may make our blood boil, but it is for us to learn to turn the simmer down and pray and work for understanding, compassion, and peace.

Essentially. I do refuse to watch anything with Tom Cruise, but that's more of him being a chauvinist.

What's with the Phillies? They may not be bigots, but Dykstra and Daulton are just as insane.

All that they needed was Kent, Rocker and Chad Curtis.
