Fair and Balanced.

When President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden made a stop at a burger joint in Virginia last week, Obama reportedly asked for "spicy" or "Dijon mustard."

Right-wing talk show host Laura Ingraham weighed in: "What kind of man orders a cheeseburger without ketchup but Dijon mustard?" Sean Hannity of Fox News invoked the Grey Poupon commercial. "I hope you enjoyed that fancy burger, Mr. President," Hannity said. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-talk-mustard-obamamay11,0,1652607.story

For once I agree with them!

This is a clear sign of elitism. But they missed some salient points. The President puts dimes in his Penny Loafers. This is a clear waste of the taxpayers money and a major factor in the penny possibly being removed from circulation.

The President wears monogrammed shirts. It is a well known fact that the workers who do the stitching on these shirts are illegal aliens. He is supporting illegal workers at the cost of American workers jobs.

Why are we wasting all of this time discussing Health Care, Afghanistan, Iraq, The Economy etc..., when we can discuss what is really important, Mustard.

commenting, not criticizing
it's almost impossible to dress yourself without supporting sweatshops. i wear new balance sneakers, which used to be only made in the usa, and carharts, which used to be made only in the usa, but now only some of each are, and often those styles aren't available. going to walmart is really no worse than going anywhere else. probably the best you can do is go to a thrift store.

Me? A British Pound Sterling coin. Mmm, sweet sweet elitism.

When the worst thing hate radio can come up with is his choice of condiments, our president is having a good day.

As a diabetic I've become a mustard fan. Ketchup contains sugar, mustard does not. Every little bit helps.

But why does our media dodge the deeper issue: coke or pepsi?

If I was President, my shirts would be monogrammed "The Muthaf*ckin' President of the G*dd*mned United States of America" and I'd put the bill for the embroiery on the front page of whitehouse.gov for everyone to see.

I use spicy mustard on everything. Spicier the better. I like ketchup on by burgers, but if you're from Chicago, they will actually shoot you in the face if you put ketchup on anything but a French fry. Excuse me, Freedom fry.

So damn tired of "the media."

Re: Point well taken.
I haven't read anybody's post for a while. Between business and personal issues, I've just avoided it. I will try to catch up.

UGH!!!!!
I know your being sarcastic in repeating these things but...its frustrating that people really think these things.

Why do we have to have this constant struggle of what people eat, wear, like means they are not "of the people" or are not American enough.

Lattes aren't just for the elite anymore. I just chatted with a steel mill worker last week who told me of his love of complicated coffee drinks at Starbucks. And I know many an attorney who loves a good hot dog for lunch.

And we're all American whether we like saurkraut or ketchup on our hot dog.

Its a melting pot people! Get over it already!
