Why is life Worthwhile?

A Disgruntled Attorney Named Jello

Thought writing would make him more Mellow

He wailed at the Moon

Some Thought him a Loon

And he vowed to be a more happy Fellow.

That may be the first Limerick that I have ever written or said that didn’t contain a rhyme for Nantucket!

I’ve been told that I sound angry and depressed. For today that attitude will change. I’m going to take a page from Woody Allen. In the movie Manhattan ( A movie that I believe to be the greatest romantic comedy) Woody’s character recites what he believes to make life worthwhile. I’m going to do the same today.

Great Comedy: There is nothing like Chaplin, Caesar, Woody Allen or especially the Marx Brothers. Groucho can always lift me from a depression.
Sid Caesarhttp://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=90323924
The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and Buddy Holly: The gym that I work out at sometimes plays a re mix of the Beatles with a disco beat. I liken it to putting a mustache on the Mona Lisa. Don’t tamper with perfection!

Monet and Edward Hopper: My wife has given me an appreciation of art to which I’m forever grateful.

The New England Coast: I can’t imagine anyplace more relaxing than the coast of Maine and Massachusetts. If it weren’t for all the Red Sox fans, this would be ideal.

Walks on Fifth Avenue and in Central Park: Take a walk from Rockefeller Center to the Guggenheim, take a detour into Central Park, let yourself get lost, there’s no place better in this world.
The Building

Most of all friends and family. You can not substitute anything for a great support system.

This Melancholy Attorney of Real Estate

decided to reevaluate his Journey of fate

It called for a change in Attitude

That would raise his mental altitude

And hopefully help him to lose Weight.

What Makes Life Worthwhile
Well, I could not comment on all of them and this is as far back as I got. What makes life worthwhile and you make no mention of sports? Cynical as we may be about the present day dope addicts playing the game, we never had more excitement in our lives than when the Yankees were peaking in the early 60's, the late 70's and the late 90's. Let's not forget the Knicks of 69 and 73, probably the most intelligent athletes ever to share a floor and ball, or for that matter in any team sport.

PS Stay out of the limerick business.

Re: What Makes Life Worthwhile
My limericks seem to be getting mixed reviews. I've gotten complaints about the fact that I haven't done more. I've also been advised to expand my horizons to Heiku. I've also been pleaded with to stop.

So I've decided that whenever a bad rhyme comes into my head,
That day before I go off to bed,
I'll write it down,
and seem like a clown.
And listen to my own advice instead.
