You're the Boss. Who would you hire?

You are The Boss... which team would you hire?

With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing Federal spending, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an ***unusually critical*** election year.

Let's look at the educational background of your two options:

Obama:
Occidental College - Two years.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in international relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

& Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 of 899

& Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism

Now, which team are you going to "hire" ?

Oh, my, let me see, oh, the choice is so hard.

Oh, I think I want the dummy just like me.

Oh, you mean they'll be holding a drill bit, and my safety depends on my co-worker being competent. Oh, well, maybe grades and schools do say something. Oh, let me see. Oh, this is so hard.

Oh, dear me. I mean the Rapture is coming, and I'm sure I am among the saved because I am so very good and I go to church every Sunday and I hardly gossip at all, except did you see the hat so and so was wearing yesterday, oh, my!! Oh, I can't decide.

I mean you are being kind of hard on McCain because he wouldn't have eaten gotten into the Naval Academy if it weren't for his family connections, and if he had gone to North Idaho College, I bet he'd rank much higher and Sarah looks good in a bathing suit and that's important, too. Oh, my, too much thought. I need to head to Wal-Mart and support the Chinese.

I did my 2 miles this morning. Now it's time to catch up on all the work that I didn't do during the week.

Good for you!! I intended to start the day with a walk and then the first email hit and then my blog and then a comment on my blog from a post on September 10th and that sent me to the stratosphere in an attempt to explain why cute Palin is not so cute, which is why when you appeared, you got both undiluted barrels of a person who hasn't had breakfast, coffee, or a walk. :)

I see I should have typed "even gotten into the Navel Academy" instead of eaten. I am clearly in jaws mode this morning.

I don't know if he looks hungry to me. He is hardly lean Cassius. He has that round face with those round blank vacant staring eyes. I think the present McCain looks insane, and yes, maybe hungry for intelligence. Yes, it is like he is hungry for sanity and truth, looking for it, as though he knew it once, and now the world has changed and he doesn't know where he is.

I think the world for him right now is a revolving restaurant and he got up to go to the bathroom and now the outside rim has moved and he can't find his table, so yes, you are probably right on the hungry. Oh, my!! Big sigh!

Folksy!
You left out the "folksy factor".
The Republicans are folksy folks who talk like the guy who works down at the gas station we do. Just listen to McCain pronounce the name of the capital of the US with the R after the A.
Americans seem to want somebody who sounds like he hasn't had too much education because, you know, it would mean they're out of touch with the people of the country, and perhaps smarter than them...
Personally, I want somebody who is very much smarter than I am to run the country. That would include somebody who can speak like maybe he's actually read the word "nuclear" on paper and knows how it should be pronounced.

Re: Folksy!
I never had a problem relying upon the smartest kid in the class.

All academic excellence proves is that you are an excellent academic. I'd like to hire the person who I think will do the best JOB (and typically that isn't the one who is an academic - this has been proven through statistics BTW)
