memory

It's amazing 39 years ago tomorrow was my Bar Mitzvah. I haven't heard my Havtorah in that long, yet I still remember it.
But, if I run out of Orange Juice in the morning, by evening I have forgotten to buy some more.

Aging it's better than the alternative.

I love how we remember the past, the juice. Congratulations on 39 years ago, and the joys of today!!

If i could save time in a closet
The first thing that i'd want to do (aside from prosecute Dick Cheney for war crimes)
Is to hang every day on a hanger
And then
I'd vacuum pack them (As seen on TV!) and ship them to you.

If I could make days (or chocolate cake) last forever
If words could make Republicans come true
Id save every day like a OJ Simpson
Again, I would send them to you

But there never seems to be enough integrity in the government or heck even in the grocery store
To do the things you want to do (many repubs won't do things; they'll do time)
Once you find them
Ive looked around enough to know
That you're crazy good enough to have zillions of right ideas

If I had a box just for Christians
And dreams that had never come true (what apocalypse?)
The box would be full of Rick Warren, John Hagee and Satan rest him, Jerry Fallll-well
Along with the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough Democrats
To do the lobbying you want to do
Once you find them
Ive looked around even in the snow
So I know that it's a very good thing
You're here.

Very nice.

I loved Jim Croce. He died when I was a senior in High School.

Mazel tov ... and of course you remember the Havtarah but not the OJ; you didn't go to umpty zillion classes for years on end to remember to buy the OJ (complete with its own special trope and blessings).

I don't know about that. I drink a lot of OJ.

Ah yes, long term memory. Give me a first line from the sixties, I'll tell you the song and who sang it. Just don't ask me what day it is.

That's because, with few exceptions, music ended in 1970.
