FYI: NYT on internet trolling
Greetings jellomarx, we talked in the NY comm a couple of times re: internet civility issues, etc.

Not sure if you read this article in the NY Times, but I think it's worth some consideration. It is *very* lengthy (seven separate pages online), but I think it provides perspectives and understanding that are relevant in that "devil's advocate" sort of way.

Though it doesn't really say this part, it somehow makes sense to me why some of this behavior has carried over into "real" life in some fashion.

NOTE: I credit the reporter for taking a lot of risks (in more ways than one) in meeting with these trolls in person.

Thanks for the info. I've just joined it.

Also apologies for not really updating this blog: I desperately need to add and post to it. Lots of (usually small) thoughts that come up on the issue of aging, a changing (?) society, and culture.
