A Dating Life Part 1

                                 When I was single,
                                I often would mingle,
with women of all shapes and sizes,
When I attempted to bed them,
They said, first I must wed them.
Ain't life just full of suprises!

Before I got married, I dated a lot of different women.   Some very nice,  but I wasn't mature enough to appreciate them.  Some not so nice,  but I wasn't smart enough to realize that I shouldn't appreciate them.  And one who was completely insane!

The first date that I ever went on was to a Jewish Center dance in 1970. I was 13 she was 12.  I thought I could teach her the wisdom of an older man.   I never danced, we barely spoke and the apex of the evening is when my braces broke.   A harbinger of things to come.   It took me 4 years to put my arm around her in a movie theater, and 4 minutes to realize that that is the most painful thing in the world.   Dating is not easy.

I never claimed to be a Don Juan,  more likely a Don Adams!

My single life was long and relatively uneventful.    It amused my friends, confused my family.   They never knew who or what I would bring to a family event.

Oh to be on a date
You know she'll show up late,
                               The money you spend,
                               Should never depend,
                             Upon your eventual fate!
