Another Fine Mess

It recently occurred to me that country would not have been in any worse shape if Laurel and Hardy had been in charge.  So Ignoring the fact they they are both deceased and that Stanley was not born in the US,  I give you President Stanley and Vice President Oliver.

Oliver: Now Stanley we're meeting with the leaders of Congress and we don't have enough money in the treasury for the bailout and for the war.  So let me do the talking.  You just sit there and say that you don't want anything.  Do you understand?

Stanley: Yes, I just sit back silently.

Oliver: That's fine.  That's all you need to do.

In come the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader of the Senate.

Speaker: Vice President Hardy, you've asked us here.  What can we do for you?

Oliver: I think that I'll have an additional $800,000,000,000.00 to fight the war.

Stanley: And I'd like $800,000,000,000.00 to bail out the banks.

Oliver: May we have a minute Mister Speaker?
+-
Oliver:  Stanley, we don't have enough money for both, so I'll just order for the two of us.

Stanley: OK

Oliver: Now we are agreed.

Stanley: We sure are.  Just like to peas in a pot.

Oliver: (addressing the Speaker) The President does not need anything, but I will take $800,000,000,000.00 for the war.

Stanley: And I'd like $800,000,000,000.00 to bail out the banks.

Oliver: May we have just another minute Mister Speaker?

Oliver: LIsten Stanley, Leave this to me.  You don't say anything. Do you understand?

Stanley: Yes Oliver.

Oliver: Just leave the banks to me To catch a Hardy they've got to get up early in the morning.

Stanley: What time?

Oliver: Oh about half past ' What time" Hmph.

Oliver: (addressing the Speaker)  I think that we've cleared the confusion,.  The President does not want anything.  I will take $800,000,000,000.00 for the war.

Stanley: And I'd like $800,000,000,000.00 to bail out the banks.

Oliver: May we have just another minute Mister Speaker?

Oliver:  Why do you keep asking for $800,00,000,000.00?

Stanley:  I'm sorry Ollie.

Oliver: Stop crying Stanley.  We'll get the money for the banks. Nothing is impossible.

Stanley: Yes it is.

Oliver: Yes, what is?

Stanley: something is impossible.

Oliver: What is impossible?

Stanley: You can't strike a match on a bar of soap!

Oliver: (addressing the Speaker) The President does not need anything, but I will take $800,000,000,000.00 for the war.

Stanley: And I'd like $800,000,000,000.00 to bail out the banks.

Oliver: Stanley, this is another Fine Mess that you've gotten me into!
